If you have been a coal user, you may have been alarmed with reports that the Government has decided to ban bituminous house coal in England. As from February 2023, we as coal merchants are no longer allowed to supply bituminous house coal in any format. This has been replaced by smokeless fuels which we’re now able to supply readily.
Please be best assured that coal merchants will have plentiful supplies of manufactured solid fuels available as very good alternatives to bituminous house coal, and for those with solid fuel boilers there are still ample supplies of anthracite. These alternatives can give more heat, less ash, last longer and are less polluting to the atmosphere.
